Stay focused on Jesus and don't let sins bring you down. Keep your attention on the Lord to prevent the devil from defeating you. As the Bible says, sin is like a beast knocking at your door. If you let it in, it may conquer you (Genesis 4:7). Therefore, it is essential to remain vigilant and protect our mindset, as I firmly believe that our thoughts often influence our actions.
I remember the story of Peter walking on water, which you can read in Matthew 14:29-30. Peter was able to walk on the water because his eyes were fixed on Jesus. Despite the strong wind and high waves, he didn't worry about drowning. When Jesus told him, "Come over here, Peter," he stepped out of the boat without hesitation and walked on the water. He didn't sink because his faith, unbeknownst to him, was at work. His eyes were fixed on Jesus, and so was his faith.

That’s how our faith works. For our faith to grow every day, we need to focus on God’s promises that He is always with us. Fixing our eyes on Jesus helps us set our minds to not worry about anything else around us. You will never notice how hard life is if you keep your eyes on Jesus. Just like Peter, who walked on water despite the high waves and strong winds, he didn't notice the challenges until he took his eyes off Jesus. When he did, he started to sink because his faith was replaced by doubt. Instead of trusting God to protect him, he began to doubt and panic, which caused him to sink.
When Peter realized he was sinking, he cried out to Jesus for help, saying, "Lord, save me!" Jesus immediately reached out his hand and said, "You of little faith, why did you doubt?" (Matthew 14:29-31). The same thing happens to us. When we take our eyes off Jesus, we begin to notice all of life's miseries and troubles, which can affect our faith in God. Does this mean that if we maintain our focus on God, all our troubles will disappear? No, the Bible does not explicitly say that by keeping our eyes on God, we will be free from troubles in life. In fact, if we choose to follow God's will, we must prepare ourselves to face challenges and difficulties. However, when we place our trust in God, regardless of the magnitude of the challenges we face, we can be confident that God will provide guidance and support to overcome them. As Psalm 46:1 says, "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble." We have nothing to fear because we are certain that we can do all things and resolve all issues with God on our side.
Fixing our eyes on Jesus gives us new hope, and our faith will grow like a mustard seed (Hebrews 12:12; Matthew 17:20). Upon being diagnosed with Crohn's disease, significant changes occurred in my life. I found myself unable to engage in activities I previously enjoyed and struggled to secure a stable job due to the unpredictable nature of Crohn's disease flare-ups. Initially, this caused a great deal of sadness and distress. By maintaining a positive outlook, I have found solace in my faith in God. I firmly believe that God will provide protection and support for me and my family.
Although I do not have a permanent job, I am grateful that my interest in photography has evolved into my profession. Photography now brings me immense satisfaction both as a career and a passion. Additionally, I now have more time to document and share the countless blessings from God that I have received, both personally and for my family.
