Jack: Do you trust me?
Rose: I trust you.
Jack: All right. Open your arms.
Rose: I’m flying, Jack
Do you recall the moment when Jack and Rose were at the bow of the Titanic, and Jack requested Rose to step onto the railing? (Titanic, 1997). Jack aimed to earn Rose's trust, convinced that it would allow her to feel a sense of liberation and excitement, freeing her from the confines of her privileged but stifling existence.
Just as Jack sought Rose's trust, God desires for us to trust in Him. By doing so, we can experience a sense of liberation from the harsh situations we face in our daily lives.
Can you imagine God asking you right now, 'Do you trust me?'
Do you have the confidence to say to Him, 'Yes, Lord, I trust you'?
Place your trust in God wholeheartedly.
When someone is facing a problem or going through a tough time, whether it's personal, family-related, or work-related, they often feel lost and unsure of what to do. Their minds can become clouded, and their emotions feel heavy. You might notice that they become very quiet, not talking much, and seeming on the verge of tears. They long for someone to talk to but fear being judged as weak. Often, the issue is that instead of understanding their feelings, the people around them blame them for their struggles. This is why they often feel too afraid to express their thoughts and emotions. They are reluctant to seek assistance or help from close relatives or friends because of the possibility of being judged.
When experiencing feelings of sadness or distress and feeling that there is no one available to listen, it is important to remember that there is always someone who can. God. He is available at any time of day. God is always accessible to listen to your concerns. You may express your emotions to Him as needed and reach out for support.
When you place your trust in God, you will find comfort and peace, along with the confidence that God will never leave you alone in any battle you face in life. Trusting in God wholeheartedly means surrendering yourself completely to Him. You are no longer in control of every aspect of your life; instead, you are allowing God to take the lead, believing that He is watching over you and is always just a call away.

In each challenge or situation you encounter, place your trust in the Lord.
In reality, placing your trust in God can be incredibly challenging, especially when faced with problems that seem impossible to solve. Those who have no one else to rely on but God are truly fortunate. The truth is, everyone, including those we believe have a strong relationship with God, such as priests, nuns, and deeply religious individuals, sometimes find themselves blaming God and others during times of hardship. It's natural for people to experience doubt and frustration during tough times.
Let's talk about Job. He is widely recognized as a faithful servant of God. Even elementary school students are familiar with his story, as it is often discussed in schools, especially in Catholic schools. Job suffered immensely, losing his wealth, his children, and his health, and even being mocked by his wife. Amidst the overwhelming pain he encountered, Job reached a point where he questioned and lamented to God about his suffering. Despite these miseries, Job was able to pass the trials and reaffirm his trust in God. As it is written in Job 13:15, "Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him; I will surely defend my ways to his face." This verse highlights Job's unwavering faith and trust in God, even in the face of extreme adversity.
Another good example is David, the well-known King of Israel. He faced numerous challenges in life and even felt abandoned by God at times before he became the king of Israel. Later on, he committed the sin of adultery when he fell into temptation with Bathsheba and let Uriah be killed (Williams, 2024). These feelings arose from the many hardships he encountered. However, David did his best to regain his faith in God and ultimately fulfilled his destiny. As it is written in Psalm 22:1, 'My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, so far from my cries of anguish?' (“Psalm 22:1 My God, my God, why have You forsaken me? Why are You so far ...”, biblehub.com) This verse highlights David's moments of doubt and despair, yet he continued to seek God's guidance and strength.
It is acceptable to express your distress to God during times of emotional or physical suffering. By maintaining your faith and trust in God, you will be able to persevere, as God will ultimately be there for you, extending His assistance in times of need.
Some people believe that illnesses or life-threatening diseases are a form of divine punishment for sins. What are your thoughts on this perspective?
I have been diagnosed with Crohn’s disease since 2009 and have undergone numerous medical procedures, but there has been no significant improvement. As of now, I continue to experience symptoms of this condition. When my Crohn’s disease flares up, I can’t walk or stand straight. It significantly affects me, leading to occasional periods of depression due to the associated pain.
Although my doctor has told me that I will have this condition for life, I believe that God is always with me. I trust in God's promise that whenever I call on His name, He will always be there to listen to my cries and prayers. I never lose hope. I always trust in the Lord, believing that someday, somehow, everything will be just right.
I've never believed that God allowed this illness in my life as a punishment for all the sins I've committed. There is a greater purpose for my suffering, and only God knows what it is.
That's why I am surrendering myself to God, because I believe He knows what's best for me.
Stand firm and seek God's help; His angels will protect you.
